Main Physical & chemical Features
Sodium carboxymethyl celluose(CMC-Na)is a anion type linear macromole substances. Features of pure substance: white or ivory, insipidity ,innocuity, fluidity, fibrous powder, freely soluble in cold or hot water to form transparent sticky solution, unique function. It is a very popular chemical and used in many industry, such as Food, Cosmetics, Ceramics, Oil drilling, Paint, Textile and dyeing, Paper and so on. 

Food appropriation type CMC has good properties of acid proof, emulsifying and heat stability. Its water solution has high clarity and when used in liquid milk, soy milk, juice milk, peanut milk and acidity beverages like lactic acid and fruit acid, etc., it can make the solution stable with clean taste and suitable for regular bacterium extinguishing technique such as ultra high temperature (UHT) and Pasteurizing. The suggested adding amount is 0.3-0.5%
When used as dispersant and shape forming agent in ice cream, food appropriation type CMC can not only increase the expansion rate of icecream, but also prevent ice crystal and make ice cream with fine taste, better smoothness and good shape. Its suggested adding amount is 0.25-0.35%
The properties of thickening, suspending and salt proof, etc. of food appropriation type CMC can stabilize and even condiments like soy sauce and jam, beverages like eight treasure rice pudding and fruit beverage, and increase their texture. The suggested adding amount is 0.3-0.8%.
Food appropriation type CMC, for its unique shape forming ability and binding ability, can increase tenacity, smooth surface, improve taste and reduce breaking rate in instant noodles, cookies, and deep frozen wheat flour food, etc. The suggested adding amount is 0.25-0.4%.

Food grade Function and Application

Function: Used as addtive in food industry, CMC has the functions of thickening, suspending, emulsifying, stabilizing, shaping, filming, bulking, anti-corrosion, retaining freshness, acid-resisting, health protecting etc.
 
Advantage: CMC can replace the application of guar gum, gelatin, agar, sodium alginate and pectin, reduce the cost.
Application: Widely used in modern food industry, such as frozen food, solid drink, fruit juice, jam, lactic acid drinks, condiment, biscuit, instant noodles, bakery products, meat products etc.

It can stabilize physical and chemical property of glaze formulation.
It can improve glaze adhesion and reduce glaze cracking.
Medicine Grade In medicine industry CMC can be used as thickener, stabilizer and water-holding agent for medicine syrup, it can also be used as water holding and dispersing agent for soft paste medicine. Used as disintegration of the tablet, it can control the release of medicine. CMC also can be used as emulsifying oil agent in injection process.
Textile Grade CMC is used as woof trimming agent replacing traditional starch paste material,which can reduce pollution of woof during sizing and desizing.At the same time,CMC can form a membrane on woof which reduces"drop woof" and "decollation" sign.
CMC can be used as printing material for dye-trimming industry and it can improve hydrophilic force and osmosis force of dye material,making dying more even and reducing chromatism.
