Cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) is a mixture of closely related organic compounds derived from coconut oil and
dimethylaminopropylamine. CAPB is available as a viscous pale yellow solution and it is used as a surfactant in personal care products and animal husbandry. The name reflects that the major part of the molecule, the lauric acid group, is derived from coconut oil. Cocamidopropyl betaine to a significant degree has replaced cocamide DEA.
With excellent foaming properties, can make hair soft, suitable for the manufacture of non-irritating, rational hair shampoo, baby shampoo, etc. Because of its good resistance to hard water, it is used to prepare hard water detergent. Can also be used as a fungicide, used to kill a variety of bacteria including tuberculosis, used as a fiber softener, velvet agent. Also used in the production of dyeing auxiliaries, rust prevention agents, metal surface processing auxiliaries, antistatic agents. Also used for rubber industry and washing product industry, etc.

Good compatibility with anionic, cationic, nonionic and other amphoteric surfactants. 2.Good softness, rich and stable foam. 3.Perfect decontamination, conditioning, antistatic performance, good adjustment of viscosity. 4.It retains stable within a wide range of pH values, and low irritation to skin and eyes. 5.Added in shampoo, it is matched with other active matter, and brings forth obvious conditioning and thickening effects.

1.It can be used to manufacture personal washing products, such as shampoo, bubble bath, facial cleanser, etc. 2.It is especially suitable for application in baby shampoo, baby bubble bath and baby skin care products. In hair and skin care formulations it is an excellent soft conditioner. 3.The recommended dosage is: 4.2-12% in shampoo and bubble bath. 5.1-2% in the cosmetics.
